ANTHONY HAYNES The 33-year-old, who has been locked up since he was 19, was one of two black men convicted in the 1998 slaying of a white off-duty Houston police officer. Also convicted in the killing was Michael Turner. On appeal, Haynes asserted that prosecutors deliberately excluded African-Americans from the jury in his case.
