Until that time, Germany had a fairly honest set of judges who followed the law. When they balked at provisins of the enabling act, he quickly fired tyhe honest judges, forbad Jews from acting as lawyers, and replaced them all with Nazis, who were scarcely less virulent as Roland Freisler. Criminal Law was split into regular criminal law, and plitical law, where there was no appeal, except to Hitler, who frequently enhnced the punishment. The trial of the alleged Reichstag fire setters ended in a fiasco, as all but one of the defendants were acquitted, one --Van der Lubbe, an imbecile probably innocent---was beheaded. The judges were all sacked by Hitler. <br /><br />Perry does not have the pwer base to get away with it, and his crude ass covering ploy will be counter-productive. More important now is the attempt of Texas to ignore scientific evidence and murder Larry Swearingen, again ignoring physical evidence that is air tight.
