MARIO SWAIN , convicted following a three-day trial of murdering an East Texas woman in a burglary-gone-bad. Among his claims on appeal were that the prosecution should have been barred from introducing his confessions, his attorneys failed to investigate evidence of childhood abuse, and a jury shuffle initiated by prosecutors placed more whites at the front of the panel of prospective jurors.
